Prudence MacLeod's Writings

I'm not just a wanna be farmer, I'm also a writer. I write romance, sci-fi, and action/adventure. Sometimes I even blend the three just for fun.

The romance novels are listed on the left of the page. The other books are listed on the right of the page. Please enjoy. You can also check the other pages of this blog for more.

I also play a lot of World of Warcraft; if you're a player you may spot where that hobby creeps into my writing. :)

LGBT Romance

Over the years I have written a number of romances that feature LGBT folk. The St. John's series is a series of six lesbian romance novels. I have given them their own page on this blog so you can easily find them. This page will feature many of the others.

A sad and lonely girl, filled with despair stands ready to end her short life by a long plunge from a bridge. Hope and a better life are on the stairs, but will the steely eyed stranger arrive in time, or will her fear of heights force her back down to the street below?

The attack of 9/11 was horrendous, and had far reaching consequences. Like ripples on a pond, the waves of evil spread out, devastating lives and destroying people. Kassidy Wells was just another victim, although she was far away from the attack. Her job vanished in the mayhem that followed the act of mindless violence, and her apartment soon followed.
Lost and alone on the streets with winter coming on, she was suddenly offered a devil’s bargain. A lonely lesbian offered her a home and a life, but could Kassidy do it? Could she make such a marriage work, could they? Even if they could, could they find a place where they could fit in, be accepted as any other couple? The Odds were against them.

What would a second chance at life be like? Let’s take a look. Amanda Jones went to sleep and awakened fifteen years later, in the body of a three year old girl. A few hours later the child’s memories returned as well. She had to blend the two, and create a new and better life for herself, for she was now Tyra Logan. Just what does a three year old do when she has eighty seven years of life experience to draw upon?

Brianna Duncan has asked for an above average life, and she has been challenged to create just that. She must override her natural heterosexuality and deliberately fall in love with a woman. As Brianna faces the seemingly impossible, she is determined to succeed. Suddenly she is faced with not just one above average woman, but two.

As Abby MacKai retreated to heal her heart, Hazel Fillmore fled the rural life for the big city. She wanted a taste of freedom, but sometimes freedom can have a bitter taste.

Eventually Hazel abandons the western city the rocky shores of the east, where she hopes to pursue her photography, as well as regain her sense of true self. Will she ever find that perfect wildflower? Even if she does, can the wildflower love her back?

Will Abby recognize what is right before her eyes? what is it about this dark haired photographer that hold her attention?

Rhonda Gale has inherited her great athletic ability from her parents, but where did the psychic ability come from? Who is the woman who haunts her dreams speaking a language unknown to Rhonda. She must get to Europe, for there is where she believes the answers will lie.

Iris Carlyle knew a perfect love, and she lost it. In spite of her great psychic healing powers, she was unable to save her lover. Iris mourned for seven years. Can she ever love again? If so, will her special talents affect the relationship? What of her young apprentice, the fire starter? It will take a strong woman to enter a relationship with Iris, an even stronger one to survive intact.

Melody MacLean has a unique problem, she has multiple personalities. Harmony, perennial starving student, needs to get some first hand experience of an arranged marriage, and soon. A match made in Heaven? Maybe, maybe not, but with first names like these, they are destined to meet.

Jamie Cameron is a hard drinking, stone fisted, homophobic red neck whose world gets turned upside down when his life is saved by a timid transsexual woman. How will they fare when Fate throws them together.

Abused, betrayed, and abandoned by the men in her family, Annie Laurie Balfour finds herself in a foreign country with no resources, and her life in jeopardy. Annie’s only hope is a shadowy figure from the world of international espionage, a woman thought long dead. Who is this will-o-the-wisp; is she savior, or is she assassin?

What do a ghost, a divorcee, an elemental spirit, a teenager, and a widowed lesbian have in common? Why, the B&B they run, of course. How could this come to pass, you ask? Turn the page and watch the tale unfold… The spirit of Laurie Hibbs is cursed, and he has only one chance to save himself from eternal damnation. He must find a lover for Judy Harper.

A lucky fire, can there be such a thing? The saying goes, it is an ill wind that blows nobody some good, but can that really be true? It was an ill wind which carried the spark that set the old hall on fire; or was it? Perhaps it was a lucky fire, for the effects of this fire will be far reaching indeed; both through time and space, for this seemingly lucky fire will change the lives of many.

An abused woman has been freed by fate. Now comes the journey to regain her lost sense of self. Can she ever regain the essence of who she once was?

Two women, from different walks of life and distant lands, connected by a poem on a washroom wall, are slowly drawn together by this tenuous thread. Will it break, or become the tie that binds?
